PLAYPLAYFUN’S IMPRESSION ON ICY PANIC:

Icy Panic is an arcade shooting game with a cute setting. You are in charge of a Papa Yeti in quest to rescue his children in an icy cave!



Icy Panic definitely is not your usual shooter game, but it is like a combination of shooter game and bust a move. Like Bust a Move, you will need to shoot the block of the same color to destroy them. There are several power ups that you can use to help you survive. Don’t make a mistake or the ice blocks will decent… and once the block reach the bottom, you lose the game.



One of the things that I would like to see different is the control of the Yeti. Currently, the Yeti moves automatically from left to right. For some reason, it would be interesting to see if the control more manual with arrow keys much like that of Magical Drop.



Overall, Icy Panic has some interesting ideas and gameplay. The various achievement definitely gives the game more replayability. However, it would be more appealing if the graphics are more colourful and vibrant like the original Bust a Move.

PLAYPLAYFUN’S IMPRESSION ON DIZZY AIRLINES:

Dizzy Airlines is a game where players use their plane to pick up passengers from various islands and bring them back to the main island (the one with the airport). It’s as easy as it gets. But, the catch is that your plane will move only in an infinite circular loop unless you click on it to turn left and right.



Please read the tutorial for a quick briefing on how to play the game. You will need a few tries before you get used to the mystifying movement of the plane. Once you get a hang of the control, the game is endless as long as you keep on ferrying passengers to the airport and avoid mid-air collision.



After you are familiar with the game, you will start wondering and wanting more from this game. Here are my wishlist:

• Special passengers
• Power ups such as invincibility, collect all passengers in sight, etc
• Unlockable maps eg. Warzone map where you have to avoid not only other planes, but missiles from below

Overall, Dizzy Airlines is a unique and simple arcade game with tons of potential!

PLAYPLAYFUN’S IMPRESSION ON PEACE BUBBLES 2:

Peace Bubbles 2 is an endless shooter game with increasing difficulties as you progress through levels.



The objective of the game is to blow bubbles to float bombs and planes up to avoid damaging your city. You can produce 3 different sizes of bubbles by holding your left mouse button. The smallest bubble is to catch the bombs while the medium size bubbles are able to catch planes as well. The biggest bubbles are universal, but beware, the bigger the bubbles, the slower their speed are.



The game features decent amount of power ups such as ‘slow’, ‘instant bubbles’ and ‘repair city’ to help you win the levels, especially at higher levels. Furthermore, other than bomber planes, wind directions are also introduced in higher levels which reduce accuracy of your shots and therefore, cause problems to your city.



There are a few things, however, that I think should be addressed:

• Shooting and catching planes are much tougher than bombs, it should carry more points
• The first few levels are qutie slow and meant for new players. They should be skippable or reserved as tutorials
• Leaderboards and scoreboards would be nice

Overall, although the earlier levels are too slow for me, I enjoyed the higher levels where the actions are much faster and challenging.
